PerfectShare Ulpoad Huge Files

Most Internet Explorer users have Silverlight already installed. Chrome, Firefox and Safari users should confirm that you have Silverlight installed, update it, or install the latest version. Please visit Get Silverlight and download the correct version for your browser.

Please note that huge file uploads are also supported on Apple OS X Lion with Safari 5 and above. Silverlight for Mac must be installed. Firefox and Chrome for Mac may work although they are not officially supported.

The processes outlined below are the best way to ensure your upload is successful.

Pause and resume the uploading process at any moment

Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox 4+ users can not only upload files of a size up to 25GB, but it is also possible to resume uploads if your connection drops.

This provides a seamless experience even if you face serious uploading complications. Here are examples of situations that will determine whether a succesful resumption of the upload can be achieved:

  • Uploads interrupted due to network errors (such as your internet connection dropping) can be successfully recovered. If you suspect your internet connection has been interuppted, press the pause button in the lower right hand corner of the upload window. As soon as the connection is back, press the "play" or upload button, the uploads continue transmitting from where they were interrupted.
  • Browser or computer crashes will result in an unrecoverable upload. Your previous upload will not be recovered and you will lose progress. Note that If browser is restarted, page reloaded or, files removed and added again, the upload process must be started from the begining.

Troubleshooting issues with transferring huge files

If you experience a problem uploading a file, first ensure that you have an up to date version of Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome or Firefox 4 or higher. Only up to date browsers are capable of using these new features.

If you are experiencing stalling, crashing, or failing uploads, please follow the steps below to improve your chances of success. If your upload completes and your video stalls or fails to convert while processing, ensure that you are not uploading a forbidden file type or, a file with illegal characters in the file name.

The most reliable way to upload large files is by using a browser equipped with the most up-to-date technology. The listed browsers are consistently the most successful at uploading big files. Additionally, these recommended browsers have technology that allows your to resume or recover your upload when you experience a problem.

Google Chrome with Silverlight enabled can reliably upload files up to 25GB, and recover failed uploads.

Firefox 4 or higher   with Silverlight enabled can reliably upload files up to 25GB, and recover failed uploads.

Internet Explorer 9 with Silverlight enabled can upload files up to 25GB, and recover failed uploads.

If you use, Chrome or Firefox you should use a Chrome incognito window or Firefox Private Browse. This will temporarily exclude the use of browser extensions, which may interfere with communications. Ad blocking extensions, for instance, are commonly responsible for these problems. Firefox extensions like Firebug are known to cause memory leaks and will not only cause your upload to fail but, also consume all usable memory on your computer.

You should temporarily disable anti-spyware, anti-virus, or similar software. These programs are also known to interfere with communication.

You may also benefit from plugging your computer directly into your modem with an ethernet cable, rather than connecting wirelessly through a router. This can improve the stability of your connection.
